April 5 is the deadline to submit nominating petitions to run for open trustee and alternate trustee positions in the 2010 election. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria and submit nominating petitions with at least 25 signatures of current AALAS national members from within their district. Terms commence at the close of the 2010 AALAS National Meeting in Atlanta.
Open positions for 2011-2013 terms are:
- District 1 Trustee and Alternate Trustee
- District 3 Trustee
- District 5 Trustee
- District 6 Trustee
- District 7 Trustee
- District 8 Trustee and Alternate Trustee
Requirements for eligibility:
- AALAS national membership in good standing for the past five consecutive years.
- Have served in branch leadership and/or on a district, regional or national committee during the past five years.
- Make a three-year commitment to leadership.
- Reside in district of representation.
